Como v PSG on 20 January 2027: the away-trip guide from Zurich
Away tickets, train or car, the stadium and getting home at night: how to do Como v PSG in the Champions League from Zurich, just 215 km away.
On Wednesday 20 January 2027, PSG play in Como on matchday 7 of the Champions League league phase. The Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia is about 215 km from Zurich, compared with more than 600 to the Parc des Princes. For PSG fans in Switzerland, it is by far the most accessible European away game of the season. But the ground is small, away tickets will be scarce, and a few local rules can ruin the night. Here is what you need to know to plan it.
Como, the Champions League newcomers
Coached by Cesc Fàbregas, Como 1907 finished fourth in Serie A in 2025-26 and are playing in the Champions League for the first time, the 16th Italian club ever to do so. Their debut was spectacular: 4-1 against RB Leipzig at home on 10 September.
To host European football, the club rebuilt the lakeside Sinigaglia over the summer, with a new concrete stand and a wider pitch. After the safety commission signed it off in late August, the stadium holds just under 11,000 for UEFA matches. The temporary stands used in Serie A are not allowed.
How do you get an away-end ticket?
UEFA rules require the home club to set aside at least 5% of capacity for visiting fans, which means around 550 seats in Como. That allocation is sold by PSG themselves, through their official ticketing site, with priority for their most loyal season-ticket holders and members, as for every European away game. UEFA also caps the price of these tickets: €50 at most last season. The 2026-27 figure had not been published by mid-October.
- Turn on notifications from PSG's ticketing site and the club app: away sales are often announced at short notice.
- Check your status (season-ticket holder, MyParis Premium): it decides which sales wave you get into.
- Have valid ID ready: in Italy, stadium tickets carry the holder's name, and ID is checked at the gate.
By train: under three hours
The Zurich – Milan EuroCity trains run direct from Zurich HB to Como San Giovanni in just under three hours, through the Gotthard Base Tunnel via Bellinzona, Lugano and Chiasso. San Giovanni station sits above the old town, and the lakeside stadium is about a 20-minute walk away.
Getting home: no direct train after the game
Kick-off is expected at 9 pm, still to be confirmed by UEFA, so the match should end at around 10:50 pm. In Italy, away fans are often held in their section for a while after the final whistle. By then there are no more EuroCity trains to Zurich. You have three options:
- Stay the night in Como and catch one of the first EuroCity trains on Thursday morning. It is the simplest option, but hotels in the old town fill up fast on a big match night, so book as soon as ticket sales open.
- Stay on the Swiss side, in Chiasso or Lugano, using the TILO regional trains between Como and Ticino. Check when the last train of the evening leaves before relying on it.
- Drive down together and head home overnight.
By car: 2 h 30 via the Gotthard
Via the A2 motorway and the Gotthard road tunnel, allow about 2 h 30 without traffic for the 215 km to the border at Chiasso, then a few kilometres of Italian motorway to Como. The tunnel is free, but you need the Swiss motorway vignette. The short Italian stretch is tolled, so bring a credit card.
On a Wednesday in January, two things matter. In Lombardy, winter equipment is mandatory on signposted roads from mid-November to mid-April. And much of central Como is a restricted traffic zone with little parking near the stadium: park on the outskirts and walk or take the bus. Car-sharing between members is the cheapest way to do the round trip in one evening.
The checklist
- A named ticket bought through PSG's official ticketing site
- ID card or passport in the same name as the ticket
- Euros and a bank card (tolls, transport, food)
- Accommodation booked early, or a car ride home arranged
- Scarf and shirt kept out of sight until you reach the away end
- Train times checked on sbb.ch the day before
Following it with the club
The committee is keeping an eye on ticket sales and will pass on what members need to know. If a group trip is organised, it will appear in the events calendar. Meanwhile, the fixture list shows the league-phase table live. Not a member yet? Join online.
